Help Us Help Our Troops and Veterans
The Rio Grande Valley Chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All contributions to this organization are tax-deductible. Our mission is to help our troops who serving our country, to help our veterans and to help our Wounded Warriors.
In order to accomplish our mission we need donations. Money is always needed. Several times a year we send packages to our troops; postage is a large expense. We also need items to send.
Donations Needed for Our Troop Care Packages
Non Food Items:
- Phone Cards (AT&T – Overseas)
- Hand Warmers (can find in sporting goods sections and stores)
- Small air freshener solids
- AA and AAA batteries
- Black Socks
- Personal Travel sized hygiene items
- Non-Aerosol Lysol Spray
- Black Colored Zip Ties
- Zip lock Bags (sandwich and quart size)
- Disposable Razors
- Shampoos and conditioners
- Non-Aerosol Shaving Cream
- Dental Floss
- Hand Sanitizer
- Disposable Wipes
- Kleenex
- Eye drops
- Q-Tips
- Hand and Body lotion
- Chap stick
- Deodorant
- White Socks
- Thongs/Flip Flops
- Small soft paint brushes to clean weapons
Food Items:
- Individual powdered soft drink packets that can be mixed with a bottle of water, (Crystal light, Country Time, Gatorade, Kool Aid, etc.)
- Tuna or Salmon packets
- Dry Packaged Mac n’ Cheese
- Canned meats
- Small microwavable meals, spaghetti, macaroni, ravioli, etc.
- Beef Jerky
- Protein Bars
- Granola Bars
- Small pop top cans of Green Chile, fruit, vegetables, soup
- Small Red Chile Flake Packets
- Dry packages Refried Beans
